Okada man flings himself in front of oncoming trailer over seizure of his bike

A desperate, angry Okada man tried to kill himself yesterday Thursday September 26th by throwing himself in front of a trailer and then, an SUV after his motorcycle was seized in Oyo State.

According to a report by Nigerian Tribune, the unidentified Okada man was stopped by officers of the Oyo State Commercial Vehicle Registration Unit and upon checking his papers, alleged they were fake, after which they seized his Okada.

According to eyewitnesses the man pleaded with the officers for a while but when his begging fell on deaf ears, he attempted suicide by flinging himself in front of two on coming vehicles.

Fortunately there were people around the area to rescue him both times. He later went into shock and started foaming from the mouth. Some policemen arrived the scene and took the man to the hospital.

Lamar Odom slams dad for blaming the Kardashians for his downfall

Lamar Odom's father Joe granted an interview to Radar Online ON TUESDAY blaming his son’s fall from grace on the Kardashian family. Joe claims marrying Khloe was the worst mistake Lamar ever made.

Joe said: “Someone’s got to speak out, I’ve got to do something about this. It’s simple. They brought him down. He would be better off without them. Let him go and get his life together. I think the best thing for him would be to have a clean break, divorce Khloe and as a single man try and get his life back together. Xiaolian had the treatment to create a replacement for his original nose which was infected and deformed following the accident in 2012. He actually left his damaged nose unattended to after the accident which led to the infection and eventual deformity, leaving the surgeons unable to repair it.

Surgeons in China were left with no option than to create another nose for the man to breathe properly and then transplant it to the original place. Two years after loosing his wife of 40 years, Eudora, to cancer, 72 year old billionaire businessman and chairman of Champion newspaper, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu has given marriage a second shot.

Chief Iwuanyanwu married 26 year old Frances Chinonyerem Enwerem (pictured above with him), the daughter of one of his late wife's close friends, on Saturday September 14th (traditional wedding) and this past Saturday September 21st (white wedding) in Owerri, Imo State.

The new bride, who doesn't have the blessings of the Chief's children (mostly because of the age gap) is said to be expecting her first child with the extremely rich businessman cum politician.

His decision to start storing up his treasures for the life beyond came after watching a programme on Ancient Egypt on Sunday. The funeral ceremony, he promises, will be at 11am in Sao Paulo.

SSS foils plot to kidnap Yar’Adua’s daughter

 

THE State Security Service on Thursday said it had foiled a plot to abduct one of the daughters of late President Umaru Yar’Adua.

The SSS said two suspects, Hamza Abubakar and Lawrence Okoro,(Pictured above) had been arrested in connection with the foiled kidnap attempt.

Deputy Director, SSS, Public Relations, Ms. Marilyn Ogar, told newsmen in Abuja that the two suspects had on August 21,2013 attempted to kidnap the late President’s daughter at a construction site belonging to her at the Kado area of the Federal Capital Territory.

Ogar did not reveal the name of the targeted ex-President’s daughter.

Man caught with 6.5kg high grade Brazillian cocaine in Lagos

32 year old Francis Bawaba, a Nigerian based in Spain was this weekend arrested by the men of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) with 6.5kg high grade Braziillian cocaine.

Bawaba was arrested at the Murtala Mohammed airport in Lagos as he arrived aboard an Etihad flight. NDLEA officials found 364 wraps of cocaine said to be worth N72million concealed in the luggage of the trafficker. They said he took off from Malpensa Milan and collected the drug on transit while in Abudhabi.

Bawaba told officials that he agreed to carry the drugs because of a promise of N3.3million by his handlers. "This is my first time and I was lured with N3.3million. I used to work at a construction company in Madrid but due to the Economic meltdown, it has been difficult securing a job". he said.

Joy Ajanaku, the wife of the late spiritual leader of Christ Victory Chapel International, prophet Ireti Ajanaku, who died August 18th (or 22nd), has been forced to move out of her matrimonial home into a rented apartment after her husband's family allegedly made life difficult for her after the prophet passed on. According to reliable sources, the ministry's board moved Joy Ajananku and her children out of her husband's Lagos home into a 3-bedroom flat in Abule Egba, Lagos after constant harassment from the prophet's family, who are insisting that Joy is not legally married to their son.

Joy and Ireti Ajanaku lived together for 7 years before finally formalizing their union with a court wedding in 2010 but the family insist that the wedding never took place...and want her removed as the man's next of kin. Family members are now fighting over his assets said to be worth millions of Naira.

Despite having issue's her late husband's family, Joy Ajanaku is on great terms with members of the church her husband left behind. The ministry's board agreed to install her as their new leader and said the late prophet anointed her as the chosen one before his death. They also said they have a wedding certificate to prove that she was truly married to their late spiritual leader. Joy and some members of the church are getting ready to take late Ajanaku's family to court over his estate.

Brave Pre-Teen Girls Catch Robbers After Hiding In Closet

                         

A pre-teen is being hailed as a brave young lady after calling 911 to help nab two robbers who invaded her home Saturday, Channel 9 News reports.

When Bresia Morrow, 12, and Azariah Morrow, 11, of Chattanooga, Tenn., realized that two men were inside  their home, they took cover in their bedroom closet. Bresia called 911. Then men had broken in through a back door and began stealing valuables, including computers and a flat screen television.

Designer Chuks Collins suffers kidney failure, needs your help

 I saw this on another blog and decided to help solicit for donations. One of Nigeria's top fashion designers, Chuks Collins is suffering from kidney failure. Chuks, who is only 29, had an accident sometime last year that wasn't properly treated. He injured his leg and head in the accident and unfortunately the tissues in his leg didn't heal properly which caused cellulitis. The cellulitis caused renal disease which affected his kidneys. Chuks has been going for dialysis since July this year. His doctors told him recently that the lifespan of the kidney functioning in his body is just two weeks. Chuks needs a kidney transplant ASAP and has decided to reach out to the public for help. He needs N8million. Please anything you can donate will be greatly appreciated.

28 yr old woman uses fake baby bump to smuggle 2 kilos of cocaine

According reports by AFP, a Toronto woman who used a fake baby bump to try to smuggle two kilograms of cocaine was arrested yesterday September 11th at Bogota airport by Colombian police.

28-year-old Tabitha Leah Ritchie, identified as a social worker, was stopped while trying to board an Air Canada flight in Bogota, Colombia after an inspector noticed that her belly was unusually cold and hard. Airport security discovered a false belly made of latex taped to her body and they found 2 kilograms of cocaine. Record shows that Ms Richie arrived in Colombia on Aug. 6.

Burying in Style: Swedish Company Invents Coffin With Speakers & Spotify Account

 Swedish company Pause Ljud & Bild, one can now get coffins complete with speakers and a streaming Spotify account to keep the tunes rocking in the grave, Huffington Post reports. For $30,000, audiophiles can jam all afterlife long in one of these special coffins, known as the CataCombo Sound System and featuring two-way speakers and a “divine” subwoofer.

Friends and relatives of the deceased can even select songs to play using Spotify that will then go out over the coffin’s speakers via a wireless 4G Internet connection embedded in the person’s gravestone, according to the company’s website.

Fredrik Hjelmquist, CEO of Pause, has vowed to be buried in one of the coffins and is allowing strangers to add to his “Pause 4-Ever” playlist. As Silicon Republic points out, it now features such fitting songs as Robyn’s “Dancing On My Own” and Jon Bon Jovi’s “I’ll Sleep When I’m Dead” — but at only 931 songs for all eternity, Hjelmquist better hope the list is set on repeat.

FG approves 5-year jail term and N200, 000 fine for exam cheats

The minister of Education, Prof Ruqayyat Rufai, announced yesterday that students caught from now on cheating during exams will face a five year jail term or N200,000 fine or both.

This decision was reached during the Federal Executive Council weekly meeting that held in Abuja yesterday. The new law states in part...

“(Any candidate caught cheating) shall not take or be allowed to take or continue the examination; in addition, he shall be prohibited from taking any examination held or conducted by or on behalf of the Council for a period of two years immediately following upon such contraventions. If a candidate aforesaid has already taken any papers at the examination, his result therefrom shall be cancelled. In addition, the candidate may be prosecuted and if found guilty, shall be liable on conviction to a fine of N200, 000 or imprisonment for a term of five years or to both such fine and imprisonment.”

The Education Minister said the Ministry of Justice has been directed to take further necessary action on the subject. Students una dey hear? No more exam cheating...read your books!
